Queens, NY – Senator James Sanders Jr. hosted a dynamic and forward-thinking community training on Artificial Intelligence (AI), in collaboration with Natalie Austin, Civic Outreach Manager at Google LLC. The event took place at Springfield Gardens Church of the Nazarene, where residents gathered to learn how AI is shaping our world and how they can better navigate and utilize its tools in their daily lives.

The training, led by Ms. Natalie Austin, covered essential topics such as the fundamentals of AI, current applications in everyday technology, and responsible ways to use AI in work, education, and home life. The event drew strong community participation and sparked meaningful conversations around the real-world impact of emerging technologies.

"This was one of the most informative events I’ve been to," said one community member. "Learning about AI has already helped me at work and at home. I see how it's going to be part of everything moving forward."
Another attendee remarked, "AI is no longer the future—it’s the present. Instead of being skeptical or fearful, we should embrace it and learn to use it to improve our productivity and engagement in life."

Senator Sanders emphasized the importance of staying ahead of the curve. “As technology evolves, so must we. We’re committed to bringing opportunities like this to our district so our community can grow, compete, and thrive in this new era.”

The event is part of Senator Sanders’ ongoing efforts to provide access to technological education and to bridge the digital divide in Southeast Queens. Special thanks were extended to Springfield Gardens Church of the Nazarene for providing space and support for this important event.
